Busy Day at UCT
Friday, December 11 was a busy day at UC TEAMS.
A group of 10 UCT students attend the Union County Student Leadership Program at Kean College where they meet up with over 170 high school students representing every high school in Union County. Our group of ten students took part in the planning of what will be the third annual Union County Schools Community Service Project. This events has been a contest with all Union County High Schools to date UCT took 1st place in year one and 2nd place in year two. We will keep you posted.
A group of 30 young ladies attended the Junior Achievement Young Women's Leadership conference.
A group of 6 students presented A Day in the Life of a UC TEAMS Student at Queen City Academy.
Students in 9th and 10th grade that did not attend those trips participated in the Hour of Code program with me. As we entered unchartered waters in the life of coding and computer science. Students have a user name and password and can continue the work we began. The technology teachers will introduce the program to those who were on trips.
Lastly the staff attended a session on an Overview of our PARCC data and then attended breakout professional development sessions.
