NJ DOE GRADUATION MEMO

As of September 2015, the new NJ DOE State Graduation Requirements apply to the Classes of 2016, 2017, 2018 and now 2019 (Click Here for Memo).

Junior and Senior Schedules

Our juniors and seniors operate on a half day schedule 4 times a week. They attend the Union County College Bridge program and they have off site physical education. To do this our students Freshman and Sophomore years are loaded with content and other required coursework. By their senior year our students have a few course requirements to meet.

NJ & UCT Graduation Requirements

NJ Graduation Requirements and UC TEAMS Graduation Requirements can be found here.

SENIOR Exit Interviews & Portfolio

In the month of June ALL UCT students participate in a 10 member panel portolio review and exit interview. Students begin preparation for this interview in their Freshman year of High School. Students present their portfolio, give an oral presentation on who they are and what they have learned over the years and they take questions from the panel. Check the school calendar for the June 2016 date.

SAT

All seniors have been registered to take the SAT on October 3, 2015 at UC TEAMS. Students must show they are proficient in math and language arts by scoring 400 or better in each of those sections of the tests. To demonstrate readiness for college, research indicates that students scoring 1550 or better are more likely to have a successful FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE.

Senior Pictures

Students will take their regular school pictures in the Fall. Families should keep an eye out for senior picture announcements and fliers which indicate when pictures will be taken. Students will have a specific date and appointment.

Scholarship Information

Students are being given information regarding scholarship opportunities and community service opportunities every week. The walls are filled with information on upcoming college Open House dates. Please encourage them to take a WALL WALK and jot some things down.
